Voter Registration
The General Registrar is appointed for a four year term by the Emporia Electoral Board. The Registrar provides all voter registration services for the City of Emporia. The registrar also maintains electronic and manual files on all city voters. The registrar certifies candidates and issues to be placed on the ballot for election day. The registrar is in charge of certifying the election results to the State Board of Elections. The registrar also conducts absentee voting.
Elections
General Elections are held on the first Tuesday in November. Polling locations open at 6:00 am and close at 7:00 pm Identification, such as your voter card, your driver’s license, or another form of ID with your name and address on it is required prior to casting your vote at your respective voting precinct.

- Deadline to Register to Vote - October 16, 2023
- Deadline to apply for a ballot to be mailed - October 27, 2023 (office open until 4:30 PM)
- Open for Saturday Voting - October 28, 2023 (office open 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Last day of in-person voting - November 4, 2023 (office open 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
- Election Day - November 7, 2023; 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM
