Physical Security Assessments

A Physical Security Assessment is a thorough examination of the physical security of any location, whether it’s a private home, small business, school, manufacturing facility, or house of worship. This assessment is non-invasive and involves a comprehensive walkthrough conducted by an Emporia Police crime prevention specialist along with members of the organization’s management, security, and/or maintenance teams.

The evaluation covers key areas such as perimeter security, access control, surveillance systems, lighting, doors, locks, and alarms. The goal is to identify vulnerabilities and provide cost-effective recommendations to improve overall security.

For businesses and houses of worship, the assessment also includes a review of internal procedures to enhance safety for staff and guests. This includes evaluating cash handling policies, crisis management plans, the secure handling of confidential information, and the implementation of emergency continuity plans.

In addition to detailed Physical Security Assessments, the Emporia Police also offer informal security assessments for those interested.
